An unassuming wooded lot in upstate New York is home to one of the most stylish prefabricated homes we have seen in a long time, the Hudson Valley Country House by Fractal Construction. This eco-conscious retreat is calming and creative – a clean modern design with rich rustic details.
A suspended bridge connects the home and garage. The ground floor contains most of the social area including a pool enclosed by sliding doors. The pool uses an ozone filtration system instead of chlorine, environmentally friendly just like the reclaimed furniture that dots the interior.
Both sides of the ground floor feature light sculptures by Ingo Maurer. Lacrime del Pescatore, or “Tears of the Fisherman” seem lighter than air and create gentle repetition. Fun rugs and carefully chosen artwork give the simple modern interior a strong personality.
The Hudson Valley Country House is the perfect remedy for an overbearing summer. It definitely has much more individuality than the average prefab and offers timeless interior design inspiration to suit any type of home.
