This gorgeous residential rehab, Casa Corpo Santo, is the work of the brilliant Rui Cerqueira Barros architects. An exterior cloaked in dusky charcoal contains a bright family home, made spacious through smart interior design.
A new side volume connects the three stories together. The upper story holds bedrooms; the main floor serves as the social hub. White walls and dove grey trim run throughout – the trim seeming even bolder as it climbs the staircase, paired with a matching handrail.
Integrated storage flanks the twin doors that lead from living room to courtyard. This somewhat restricts the availability of natural light but probably more than makes up for it by reducing essential clutter. We love the pile of oversized floor pillows, the perfect impromptu seating arrangement for casual gatherings or lazy days.
The kitchen is our favorite. That cherry red Smeg fridge is fabulously retro but it’s also a smart space saving solution, big design with a small footprint. A chalkboard backsplash serves as a cute spot for sharing recipes and shopping lists.
Casa Corpo Santo is a neat home with an interior worth scouting for inspiration. What do you think? Which design elements would you borrow from this functional family space?
