This lovely private beach house is the work of Rangr Studio, designed for a client who at once decided that those beautiful views were too good to keep secret. Casa Kimball is now an exclusive waterfront villa, large enough to accommodate seventeen adults in tropical paradise.
Located on the sunny north coast of the Dominican Republic, the villa displays an innovative take on the stacked volumes and bold voids so popular in modern design. Architect Jasmit Rangr is the master of dreaming up unique brise-soleil and uses these screens to great effect, using distinctive architectural details to break away from the stark minimalism of his contemporaries.
We love the brilliant white travertine. The coral clad exterior continues inside, bringing elegant lightness to the walls and floors. Sustainably harvest Brazilian hardwood adds contrast to the ceilings and window frames.
There is definitely a lot of inspiration to be found in the smart, contemporary interior. The furniture choices are extremely flexible to suit the varying needs of vacationers but everything from the oversized (gorgeous) dining arrangement to the huge modular living room makes Casa Kimball the place for parties.
What do you think? We’re big fans of the interior design and the modern architecture, but most of all we like the innovative details that went into creating the welcoming atmosphere.
