Studio O+A really blew us away with the AOL West Coast Redesign. Everything about the previously cubical-ridden building underwent a massive modern design transformation – O+A stripped away the drop ceilings, tore down the cubicles, and gave this creative workspace a clean, updated aesthetic.
The new AOL logo (simple typeface against bold graphic patterns) forms the backbone of this contemporary office renovation. The graphics and geometry continue the theme through a vibrant collection of textiles and fun wall decals. Pod-like meeting rooms made of innovative corrugated fiberglass and dazzling plus-and-minus-shaped pendant lighting fixtures are just a few of the truly unique features you’ll find.
We envy the wide variety of open workspaces. Sometimes you’ll find brightly upholstered booth style seating, sometimes clean desks punctuated by ubiquitous Aaron office chairs. Whiteboard walls encourage sharing and creativity everywhere, a cute interior design idea to keep in mind. Look out for the great usage of the super-industrial Strut coffee table in red and gray.
The AOL West Coast Redesign looks like it accomplished its goal: the creation of a workspace that encourages idea incubation through the effective use of a communication-friendly modern interior.
