A true experiment in recycling – the Industrial Studio-Home is a raw city loft loyal to the original materials, attitude, and architecture of the printing plant that previously occupied the massive downtown building.
These high ceilings would ordinarily make such an ambitious open loft interior design plan seem cold and impersonal, but the rough brick walls and original plaster makes the large living area abundantly warm and inviting.
A heavy glass chandelier adds decadence to the dining space where an attractive Le Corbusier lounge waits for an after-lunch nap nearby. The Industrial Studio-Home makes good use of decorative interior design elements that also serve a function, like the bright red Kuramata Revolving Cabinet and Capellini “S” chair (it’s almost more sculpture than furniture!) So much fun!
