We love getting the chance to peek into the homes of designers and architects, and you’re in for a true treat if you share the same sense of curiosity – the Gramercy Park Townhouse lets you get inside the mind of the designer where inspiration rules the day.
Ulises Liceaga is the founder of Fractal Construction LLC, and he guided the extensive renovation with his own family in mind. Mr. Liceaga did not work alone, however – you can see beautiful sculpture by Emilio Garcia around every corner, and unique lighting by the respected Ingo Maurer makes an appearance in several rooms. Can you spot Maurer’s Porca Miseria and Schlitz fixtures?
The modern living room is our favorite part. We love how the Pachamama Eclipse leather rug really centers Ueli Berger’s iconic sectional sofa. A playful coffee table (improvised from a stack of oversized interior design books) brings a taste of the rainbow to an otherwise retro color scheme.
What do you think? If you could borrow any motif or arrangement from the Gramercy Park Townhouse, what would it be?
