Primo Orpilla and Verda Alexander are the founders of O Plus A, the “go-to” interior design firm of the world’s latest and greatest high tech companies like eBay, Facebook, Microsoft, PayPal and Yelp just to name a few. Today we’re excited to take a closer look, in to the incredible design-duo’s own Live Home Studio.
Iconic office architect David Boone built the home for himself in 1972 with a strict physical division between work and play: this modern home consists of two distinct units connected by an indoor bridge. These O Plus A designers took this division and turned it on its head, bringing work and play together again.
The living room is a wide-open space, decorated in natural wood and vintage furniture. Chairs by Frank Gehry and Warren Platner are composed of two opposite materials, soft organic cardboard and rigid metal wires. The Christopher Deam credenza brings the materials together and a metal sculpture by Alexander completes the look.
Bedrooms and a modern home office are accessible via a sky bridge, and a spacious office awaits creative work below. We could work all day in an environment like the Live Home Studio – what about you?
