Misewell is a very eco-friendly company, but we have a special fondness for the Poet Stool as an example of straightforward sustainable design. Handmade in Wisconsin, assembled in Milwaukee and constructed of locally harvested walnut, it stands out as a beautiful piece of furniture that invites direct participation from start to finish.
The adaptability of this design is only possible through its sincerity. Traditional mortise and tenon construction create an expressive but refined form, allowing the rich walnut to take center stage. The sturdy steel stretchers are a nice finishing detail and look functional as well.
Even the name is charming. We think the Poet Stool would look just as cute holding a vase as it would holding a person, perfect if you like the design but don’t want a set.
