Wiel Arets Architects designed the H House for a couple: one is a dancer, the other an actor, but both are landscape architects – so it is rather fitting that the interior design of this magnificent glass house exists in such an intimate partnership with the outdoors.
You will find very few walls in the H House – light, ethereal curtains act as room dividers and create a soft, relaxing atmosphere for the busy residents. Vitra Panton chairs (surrounding the sleek cantilevered dining table) were the perfect choice to create a touch of organic contrast to balance out the sharply eye-catching staircase.
Upstairs is just as open, but much more cozy. Creams, whites, and leather dominate the modern design landscape. Furnishings are stripped to pure function, with simplicity and modesty setting the tone.
We only see one downside – where would you hang the art?! Then again, with such massive windows and a view like that, who needs it?
