This Modern House in Britain has certainly gained much attention since its latest major renovation by award winning designer Eldridge Smerin in 2000, but its history goes much further than that.
The new construction centers on the original 1950s building designed by Leonard Manasseh. This older, more private space itself rests on Victorian foundations. Layers of character provide a variety of settings worth experiencing.
The result is known as “The Lawns”.
Inside you will find custom work by William Pye and Bill Amberg, sturdy materials like oak and York stone and luxurious amenities like a Bulthaup kitchen. We love the glass-encased study – filtered panels are a great way to keep distraction out of the workspace while letting all of that beautiful sunlight inside.
The architecture is amazing but requires the analysis of an actual critic – we just know this Modern House in Britain looks as good outside as it does inside. What do you think of The Lawns?
