Mixed-era interior design inspiration abound – take a quick peek inside the Perfect Stockholm Apartment of prop stylist Joanna Lavén to see a stunning blend of traditional, mid-century, and modern decor.
How did Lavén manage to coordinate pieces from such diverse styles? Each piece is exquisitely different yet unified by a common set of rich materials: dark woods, leather, marble, and brass.
The kitchen received a dramatic makeover. The vertical grain of the upper cabinets contrasts with the diagonal veins of the marble backsplash. The rest of the cabinets are swathed in cream paint, coordinated to bring out the rosy undertones of the woodwork.
Original features include intricate crown molding and parquet floors. Ultra-modern pendant lamps hang from classic ornate ceiling medallions – the type of contrast that highlights how special this home really is.
