The Vibrant Taishido House in Tokyo Japan

The Taishido House may have a small footprint (only 7 x 12m!), but upwards expansion and creative circulation allows this three-story family home to express a larger than life personality through innovative solution-based interior design techniques

Every room is connected through small openings and interior windows, separate but not isolated. Each space has a unique character, expressed through distinct modern design color schemes – for example, the stairs are red-hot, almost a screaming pink, unifying each floor through this one shared featured. Related areas, like the kitchen and dining rooms, feature similar palettes to create a sense of continuity. Bright Vitra Panton chairs are another recurring element, popping up everywhere from the dining room to the study.

Key Operations Architects did a fantastic job on this incredible urban residence – our favorite part is that the Taishido House is pet-friendly, we love how the family cat can access the upstairs office via a series of wall-mounted platforms! What a nice touch!
