If you want to see yellow at its best, you have to check out this lovely Vaucluse Interior by Melissa Collison! Decked out with a Palm Springs vibe, this Sydney residence creates a bright sunny atmosphere for a family of four using vivid yellows and round, flowing geometry.
A large open living room sets the tone for the rest of this modern home with a fantastic statement piece – the citrine velvet couch is a custom creation by Melissa Collison herself. An off-center wool rug keeps the couch from looking too bright against the sleek black bamboo floor.
You can catch a glimpse of the matching yellow backsplash in the kitchen, the Eames dining table and chairs continuing the mid-century modern appeal present throughout the entire home.
We definitely love the bold interior design themes used in the bedrooms – one bedroom contrasts the maze-like wallpaper against a soothing, neutral bed and the master bedroom creates the same effect with a bright yellow and blue palm leaf motif.
The Vaucluse Interior is a project that almost didn’t happen… The owners originally entertained the idea of tearing down the home to make room for new, and their change of heart is the only reason we are able to soak up this sunny sight. We’re thankful, because this contemporary interior is a delight!
